Kathy has been with The Center for Eating Disorders Management since 1997 and serves as the center’s Clinical Director. She received a BA in Psychology and a Master’s of Social Work from Boston University, and has been a Social Worker for over 25 years. Prior to working at CEDM, she worked in community mental health and in military counseling programs, as well as private practice. Her training has included a specific focus on adolescents and family therapy.
Kathy supervises all clinical staff at CEDM in both the Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs, provides training for interns from various graduate programs in the state and serves as a consultant to therapists, schools and other professionals in the area around eating disorder prevention and treatment. She has extensive training in cognitive therapies for eating disorders, long term care for the chronic patient and has worked with individuals, couples and families. As the only Certified Family Based Therapist in NH, she has brought this evidence based practice to the center and has trained other staff in this highly effective treatment model for Anorexia Nervosa.
As the Center’s Director, Kathy has been able to help facilitate research collaborations with Mass General and collaborative relationships with many Eating Disorder programs in hospitals across the country. Her role often includes finding appropriate resources for client’s needs both locally and throughout the larger spectrum of available care.
When not at work, Kathy and her husband are getting used to having her two boys reach college age.
